Student Reading in Library The Jay Pritzker Academy follows an academically rigorous curriculum based on standards and practices from the united states. Our students are expected to attend university and the academic program prepares students for success at any university in Cambodia or abroad. Curriculum Basics

English Language Arts. JPA uses the National Council of Teachers of English standards. We use Open Court Reading for our primary texts and support materials.

Khmer Language Arts. JPA uses Cambodian national standards. In addition we also have a supplemental literature based program.

We use a combination of anthologies, Cambodian textbooks and literature as our primary texts. Our teachers of Khmer have developed materials to support our learning goals.

Mathematics. JPA uses the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics principles and standards for school mathematics. We use Real Math for our texts and support materials.

Science. JPA uses National Science Education Standards. We use Real Science for our texts and support materials.

Social Studies. JPA uses the National Council for Social Studies standards. We use the Houghton Mifflin Social Studies series of textbooks.

Instruction

At JPA, classroom instruction blends individual, small group and whole class instruction. A variety of instructional materials are used to teach.

Assessment

JPA uses formative and summative assessments to track students’ results and progress which inform instruction methodology.

JPA gives annual standardised tests. These tests include Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) and Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS).

Each term students are awarded a bilingual report card.
